How do I receive an estimate?

When you contact Evolution Moving, you will have a dedicated move-coordinator assigned to your move making sure you have a perfect move! The best way to get an estimate is to give your local Evolution Moving branch a call so that we can learn about your move, understand your needs, your inventory, and provide an immediate over the phone. Another great way is to submit a request on our website so that we can get started before we get in touch with you and help streamline the process. In most cases, we will want to chat through your details over the phone to confirm inventory and make sure we have a solid understanding of your needs and can in turn relay an accurate estimate of costs to you. The more we know, the more accurate we can get. For simpler moves, we will estimate immediately over the phone based on the details you provide. For more complex moves, like long distance, Interstate moves, or pack and moves, we may recommend a quick on-site estimate or virtual estimate to best understand your move and quote accurately. In all instances, we will provide you with a written estimate that outlines our pricing, the crew size recommended, estimated hours worked, and the day and time slots requested. Let’s get started! When do I need to schedule my move?

The earlier the better! It’s a good idea to contact us at least 3-4 weeks in advance of your move if possible, though a lot of times we can work with less notice. The more lead time you provide us the more likely we will be able to reserve your most preferred date. Certain days like weekends and the last 10 days of the month fill very fast and we want to make sure you get the date you need. Other days like midweek or mid-month tend to be a bit more available on short notice. When you contact us for an estimate, your dedicated move-coordinator will be ready to answer any questions you have and make sure we can complete your move perfectly!

Do you charge by the hour or do you charge a flat rate for moving services?

We do both! For local moves and moves within Texas, we charge an all-inclusive hourly rate that will include everything we need to move you safely! This is called a non-binding estimate – you only pay for the actual time we are working for you. We will have the trucks, man-power, tools, equipment, home and furniture protection needed to complete your move efficiently. You will love how quickly and carefully our team works to make sure you move within your budget! For Interstate moves, we charge a flat-rate based on the size of the move and the distance travelled. This is called a binding estimate. You will know the price of your move well before we get started with no surprises at the end.

Do you require a deposit to book a move?

Yes. For local moves and moves within Texas, we will typically take a one-hour deposit to hold your reservation on our calendar. For more complex moves that span several days we may take a higher deposit. For Interstate moves we require a minimum of $500 per truck assigned to the move. This deposit is a commitment from both parties and Evolution Moving will guarantee your services for that date. Your lead mover will collect the remaining balance upon completion of the move.
What forms of payment do you accept?  We accept all forms of payment including cash, check, and any major credit or debit card. For Interstate moves, we would require payment in the form of a card, certified check, or cashiers check. Please note that all final balances paid on a card will incur a 2.5% convenience fee.

How long does it take to move?

The length of the move can depend on many things. The biggest factors will include the inventory to move, the stairs or elevators involved, long walks to and from the truck, and the distance of the move. Another big factor that plays a large role in the length of your move is how packed and prepared you are to move. The more packed, prepared, and organized you are – the quicker we can get items moved in and out.
