Fort Worth is one of the fastest growing large cities in the US, adding tens of thousands of residents a year as families move west from Fort Worth for more space and lower housing costs. That growth is why good move dates fill first at month end and why we book peak weekends three to four weeks out.
Getting around. I-35W, I-30, and Loop 820 carry most cross-town traffic and back up from 7-9 in the morning and 4-6:30 in the afternoon. TEXRail runs from downtown to DFW Airport, but Fort Worth is still a car city.
What to set up first. Electricity is deregulated, so you choose a retail provider. Water and trash are through the City of Fort Worth. Texas gives new residents 30 days to transfer a driver license and register a vehicle after a safety inspection.
Weather. Summers run above 100°F from July into September, which drives our early-morning start times. Spring brings hail and severe storms, so keep anything of value indoors.
